Below is another Pattern for Christmas in August that you might like to make
or keep pattern to make when closer.

GUMDROP CHRISTMAS TREES

You may make these in several ways. Regular size or small or large depending
on size of cones or by cutting them.

Strofoam cones, different sizes

Bag of assorted gumdrops or one color

Toothpicks or sequin pins, decorated top pins

Tools needed below

You may chose to use toothcks for this or the pins. If using picks, cut in
half sticking half in cone and pointed end into gumdrop.

If using pins, stick the pin directly through the gumdrop and into the cone.
This is prettier if using for decoration. Starting at on end of the cone,
place your candy around in a circle, securing with toothpick or pin. Build
up your rows until coming to the top or bottom point.

If you want to eat this decoration, place in a air tight bag or tin to keep
from getting hard. If this is a decoration piece allow to air dry. Before
you display sprinkle with white confectioners sugar into the spaces to seem
like snow and allow to harden also. Make a tall and short one and try one in
just one color like green and use where you need a table decoration.

To make a star for the top, roll a yellow gumdrop flat with a rolling pin
and use a knife to cut your star. Redip in sugar to shine again. You might
also like to place the little red heart candies on the rows between gumdrops
as added decoration. This tree will only last one year and if you want to
try to keep it for awhile, I would suggest spraying with a sealer over the
candy.
