Hello Kebbie,

A flame works great. paracord will melt under the flame. You will want to be
certain that the cord is not on  fire after putting it into the flame. My
husband is totally blind and a smoker so he is comfortable lighting his
cigarettes and melts my paracord for me. I don't smoke and am not
comfortable with flames so will not try it myself.
