Bernice,
I think you might be speaking about seed beads. Without more information it
is difficult to really come up with an answer.

They do make several types of string type for beading, ranging from types of
fishing lines strings and wire. Depending on the size of beads and hole
size this all needs to be considered. The wire threader beads are something
that will last for a long time, but the thinner wire also can break. They
make nylon type of beading wirer and just think of how many pounds a fish is
and that will give you an idea of I think they call it tess? Or something
like that.

Now for determining length that will be up to you" If you want to make it
big enough to fit over your head and close it with a clasp. If you want to
be able to make it long enough to twist it around your neck 3 times without
a clasp/you need to decide if you want 3 of the same type of beads in
different colors . You will need to put the beads all on one length of
string.

Of course what goes along with all the above is the size of beads you will
be using. They make several sizes of seed beads ranging very small [larger
# is smaller bead size]-snaller bead size is larger bead. How it is figured
is and this is seed beads only size 6 means 6 beads in a row equals 1 inch,
size 22 means 22 in a row equals 1 inche.

So that is a brief summary and I don't know if you took Theresa's safety pin
classes, but those beads sizing runs totally opposite 4 mm bead is snall &
25 mm bead is large.

I have been in search for a long time for a jewelry teacher, so if you know
of any please let me know. The ones we have had come and go.

Joyce

Here is another thing I would like to do. I bought a beaded necklace many
years ago. It is three strands of beads braided. There is a red one, blue
one, and a silver one. I love it and it is long enough to double. So my
question is how do you know how long the original strands should be to get a
specific length of finished project? Also, can't you buy prestrung beads?
Are the string they are strung with strong enough for braiding and wearing
for many years? My Mom used to use unwaxed dental floss for her beaded
jewelry. It would take very small beads and it would be quite a project to
string that many very small beads.

What does anybody think?

Thanks,

Bernice and the sweetest Octane.

So once again it is, want to know Wednesday. I planned on getting this out
earlier in the day, but things got a little out of control around here.

Do you have certain projects, craft goals or completely new crafts on your
bucket list?

If so what are they and have you taken any steps to accomplish them?

I think the responses on this should be a lot of fun.

Nella
