I am so happy to hear that you learned to crochet. Learning a new craft can
take some time and most certainly takes determination. You obviously have
the determination, and I admire you for sticking with the task until you

Here is one of the many ways to join granny squares.

Using your crochet hook:

 

When you are joining pieces that have spaces between the stitches on the
last row, such as with a granny square, you can use chains anchored with
slipstitches or anchored with single

Crochets, 

Such as a chain 2 in between each, slip stitch or single crochet.
