Hello,

First welcome to the list. Your question really interests me. I am a crochet teacher here on Krafters and I am not certain I fully understand your question. Can you tell me why yyou need a weighed blanket? I like the answers you have received so far and I agree using a heavy weigh yarn would make it weighted. I had a Granny Square blanket that was crochets with rug yarn and made in a very tight pattern making it extremely heavy, in fact too heavy. Also adding beads into your crochet on the four places top and bottom squares or rows will make it heavy. If you can find some heavy metal adornments for each corner will make the corners heavy. Therefore, heavy yarn, adornments and beads or any of the others things might work well. I hope you will post how it goes I would like to follow your ideas.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Making A Weighted Blanket

Hello all,
I have just started subscribing to this list, so I am not sure how this works. If this is not the right place for my question, sorry about that.
I have just started looming, and so far I really like it. I wanted to make a weighted blanket, but the only things I can find on the internet are things you need to sew, and I don’t know how to do that. Does anyone know if I could loom tight enough stitches so that stuff wouldn’t fall out of it? I am thinking of using glass gems that you can buy from like Walmart, or the dollar store, or Polly Pellets like the internet suggests, if they are not too expensive. Does anyone know what else I could use as well?
Thank you all for your help!

Daniella
