Hi Daniella, a Double Rake Loom is a 2 sided loom with 2rows of parallele 
pegs on it. They can range in a small one that has 12 pegs per side on up to 
a loom that has over 100 pegs per side, this one could be considered as an S 
shaped loom which could be used for blankets, afghans etc. you can wrap the 
2 rows of pegs to get a denser fabric.

answer all of your questions and help you with your blanket projects.

I got some heavy yarn that says it is for blankets at Joanne's recently. The
label says each skein weighs one pound.   If I wanted to make an even
heavier blanket, I would probably use another smaller yarn along with it,
but I am a needle knitter, not a loom knitter. I have a fairly simple
pattern that calls for tripple yarn, and the afghan I made is heavy.

When it got large, it was almost too heavy for my hands, even though most of
it was supported on my lap.

There will be information a bout the 2018 convention in the Braille Monitor,
probably the December issue.  The exact dates may already be up on the
nfb.org website. You probably know that it will be in Orlando early in July.

Thank you for your help. I am new to looming, what is the wrip stitch? How
do I make a double sided pannel? I do not have a website for looming
instructions, but ifyou google how to make a weighted blanket, sewing
instructions, will come up. A weighted blanket is anywhere from 5-20 pounds,
and it's used for people with anxiety to help calm them down. They also have
weighted vests. I know this is off topic, but how do I find out information
about the 2018 NFB convention?

Hello all,
I have just started subscribing to this list, so I am not sure how this
works. If this is not the right place for my question, sorry about that.
                I have just started looming, and so far I really like it. I
wanted to make a weighted blanket, but the only things I can find on the
internet are things you need to sew, and I don't know how to do that. Does
anyone know if I could loom tight enough stitches so that stuff wouldn't
fall out of it? I am thinking of using glass gems that you can buy from like
Walmart, or the dollar store, or Polly Pellets like the internet suggests,
if they are not too expensive. Does anyone know what else I could use as
well?
