Quilling is a paper craft.

It is done using long strips of paper, about a quarter of an inch wide, the
paper is wrapped into a coil around a quilling tool.

The paper is then glued down to a foundation paper.

Using different colors of quilling paper the coils are used to make a
picture.

So for example for an owl, one might use 2 large round yellow coils for the
eyes, Then using brown paper, coil the paper and then squeeze the coils to
make triangle points on the coil, and place that for the owl's ears.
Then using several tan coils glue that down for the owl's chest, and then
some more brown coils flattened into a long oval to represent the wings.
