fish oil pills are also good for the skin and coat.
Check with your dogs vet first before giving these to him or her.

Keeping the pup's skin and coat moisturized with a conditioning shampoo 
containing colloidal oatmeal might help.

Dryer sheets or spritzing carpet and bedding with a anti-static mist like a 
capful of fabric softener mixed in a spray bottle with water might also 
help.

Cotton and natural fibers are good anti-static.

I like to simmer citrus rinds, but if I walk away, I always turn it off.

House plants help keep moisture in the air as well.
