[NFB-Krafters-Korner] What is everyone working on?

Someone at work saw me knitting and asked me to make her newborn
granddaughter a gray and white hat with the name Dalas on it. So I started
knitting it tonight. I am in search of letters to sew onto it. I guess they
are big sports fans to name their kid after a sports team.

The pattern had you cast on stitches using two size 3 needles in one hand
and then pulling out one needle after getting them all cast on. The thinking
is that the opening of the hat needs to be very stretchy for the little one.
I also can't remember the last time I knitted with size 3. I'm not very fond
of it.

The brim is knit one then pearl on in the back loop across the 60 stitches.
It just feels like stockenette stitch to me.

We finally get to auction off my afghan at our NFB meeting Thursday..

We went on an Erie Canal tour Sunday, and family came over Monday. We were
planning our oh so complicated summer with convention, beep baseball, Seeing
Eye anniversary, and camps and summer school for the kiddoes.

Bernice and the adorable LOLo.

I don't know about you, but in CT we had the most perfect weeken weather to
do whatever you had planned. As far as all the rainy weekends we had this
Spring, this one wins the Blue Ribbon!

I finished up all my crafting before the weekend was here, and kicked it
off Friday evening with dinner at the VFW and live music to entertain
everyone. I didn't get to the Parade on Monday, but all my kids went to
Katie's house for good picnic food and a wonderful day in the country.

I did get into some crafting, as I was going over new embroidery projects
online. I listen to the thread color changes and there is a brief
description of what it will be embroidering with that color. Example: pansy
purple - flower peddles; blue grass - stems' light emerald green; flower
leaves. I picked out some new files for Halloween and a new flower file of,
yellow jessamin. My son with his family will be moving to South Carolina
in June and he wants me to make a scarf for his black Lab.

Enjoy your summer as CT had a perfect weekend to start it off.

Joyce
