I am pasting a few things below for our discussion during the upcoming
Monday night chat.

THE INS AND OUTS OF JEWELRY-MAKING

     TOOLS

Tools for putting jewelry together are plentiful; there are cutting tools
and joining tools. However, the main items are

Needle-nose pliers, flat-nose pliers, wire-cutters and crimpers.

Other tools are nice to own but not essential - clippers, bead threader,
puncher for enlarging bead holes, etc.

   TYPES OF BEADS

Precious and semi-precious stones, crystals, ceramic, wood, pearls, plastic
and glass

     TYPES OF STRINGING MATERIALS

Materials for stringing beads are of all kinds - wire, fishline of a variety
of millimeters, leather, ribbon, stretchy cord, chain (silver, gold,
copper), etc.

     FINDINGS FOR JOINING PIECES

O rings or jump rings of all shapes and sizes;  crimp beads and tubes;
decorative connectors; ear wires for earrings - posts, lever backs, kidney
hooks, etc.

     CLASPS

Toggles, magnetic closers, lobster claws; snap clasps, etc.

     SHOPPING RESOURCES

Stores (Michaels, Joann's, Hobby Lobby, bead specialty shops), bead shows,
and online.

     PROJECTS TO MAKE

Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, pendants, hair accessories -
barrettes, bands, clips, ponytail holders, hairpins, etc.; belts; scarf
rings, cuff-links, and more

These are some of the discussion items for Monday's Krafter's discussion.
If you have suggestions please, add them to the list.
