Would using a stitch marker help?

Hi Cathy,
I did do the lifeline once, just to see if I liked it, and the only thing I have to say is that you have to make sure you have the beginning of each round marked really carefully and not lose sight of where the beginning is. What I mean is that you have to make sure that you know where the beginning of the row is so if you took out a bunch, you could figure where to start, and you have to make sure the direction is correct.
I can't remember anything about it as it was a long time ago, but I did try it.
I have no trouble taking out projects in the round when I do stitch by stitch, which is what I usually do, but if I take out a bunch of rounds, I have to be very careful where I start the round and I don't like doing it. <g<

Hi Terry and all,
I have thought about a lifeline, but unlike with a cardigan, a raglan is knit in the round. I do not know of a way to create a lifeline for this kind of project. It would seem to me that if a needle were used it would really get n the way. Lifelines are good for items knitted flat, that is for sure.
Oh Tracy, I meant to let you know that I appreciated your offer to help me learn to pick up a dropped stitch. However, I already know how to do this. Dixie taught a class called the drop stitch dishcloth where she taught how to pick up stitches for both garter and stockinette patterns. The problem I was having was that the yarn was so thin that I could not feel it well enough to grasp the loop. I kept losing it and further down it would go.
Just today I dropped a stitch, but was able to catch it quickly because I had checked the row I had just completed before continuing with the next round. I guess I need to count my stitches between my markers on every row. <sighh>
May God bless you.
