[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Simple patterns needed

This knitting newbie is ready to practice learning how to follow patterns. Can folks share simple patterns for scarves, dishclothes or lplacemats to me? I can cast on, knit, purl and bind off. Haven’t mastered weaving in ends yet.
Thanks for help! If you could recommend thickness and type of yarn for the amount etc that would be great! For example wool, medium and 5 skeins or thin acrlyic, 3  skeins/ounces etc. I haven’t learned how to switch from one color yet either..
