It is familiar, but I think on the second go round, you knit the slipped
stitches and slip the knitted stitches. Someone else probably will confirm,
but you wouldn't want to keep slipping the same stitch. Let me know what
happens. My Mom taught me many years ago. Too many for my old brain to
remember exactly.

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] A Double Knit Fabric Knitting Question

Hi my fellow knitters, I have a Double Knitting Fabric question for you.
I seem to recall doing a pattern that resulted in a Double Knit looking
fabric.
Here is the pattern as best as I can recall.
Cast on X number of stitches
I knitted a Foundation row
I slipped the first stitch on the left hand needle then knitted the second
stitch, slipped the third stitch, knitted the fourth stitch and continued
until I got to the last stitch which I knitted.
On the next row, I slipped the first stitchknitted as in the above row so
that the knit stitches were all slipped, and the slipped stitches were all
knitted.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I am going to go and play around with it for a while, and will let you all
know how it turns out.
