Hi Bernice,

i have used Rat Tail. A shoe Lace would also work. I have used the shoe Lace for a draw strng with the small Draw String Bags from Mitsy Kit. They work well. I also have the string come out from both ends with a bead to tie 'off the ends of the Shoe Laces. I use 2 Shoe Laces oh cord so that the sting senches up from both sides of the bag. I string the cord of Shoe Laces through the bag making a loop withhich tightens when you pull the end of the cord from both sides of the top oof the bag to close the bag. This works for any size Draw String bag. Parachute Cord would also work. You can buy it from any Army Supply oh outdoor store. I would check to see if it is available at HOBOBBY Lobby or Micheals. The Parachute Cord comes in many colors. You buy it by the yarn or foot when you go to a Army Supply Store. You can also use it for Macrame and it is so much cheaper than the craft Stores. I have used it for Macrame and it works great!
HAPPY Crafting!

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] draw string question

As I said before on this list, I think, I am making soap sacks with draw
strings. I called my local craft store and they made 2 suggestions for
material for the draw string. The 2 materials suggested are cotton twine,
and rat tail. Does anybody have experience with either of these materials,
or do you have another suggestion. I don't want to use a knitted or
crocheted string, because they would stretch. What do you think?
Bernice
