Mary and My Fellow Chapter Presidents,
Mary, forgive me for the delayed response. I have to regretfully inform the group that the Kalamazoo Chapter will not be able to participate in this so needed push to sell the remaining Braille coins. I hadn't mentioned any issues prior to this point because I wanted to see if the situation would turn around at all with the beginning of the fall season, but so far it has not. The situation is that our attendance as been very low the last several meetings...to the point were meetings have been canceled and postponed, and quorum hasn't been met in several meetings.

I haven't given up on this location or this chapter, and I am planning on continuing to work with it as its president (if reelected), and I have made plans to increase attendance hopefully in the near future. However, at this point, their is very little I can do...pushing a project like this is nearly impossible when the consistency of a chapter is so poor.

I wish this affiliate the best of luck in this endeavor and if I can assist in other ways, please let me know.

Subject: HIGH PRIORITY: PLEASE READ/BRAILLE COIN DISTRIBUTION AND SALES

            Hello,

I hope all of you are well. I'm writing to ask for your help, support and cooperation in the next phase of the Braille Literacy campaign.

Fred has received two boxes of coins- one with 20 uncirculated coins and the other with 20 proof on consignment from the national office. We need you and your chapter members to help sell them.

I proposed that five uncirculated and five of the proof coins be sent to each of the four chapter presidents; and that each president request that chapter members help sell them. Each president will be responsible for disseminating the coins unless they opt
to delegate that responsibility to someone else. Uncirculated coins are being sold for $35 and proof for $45 each. Proceeds from the sales should be given to the chapter treasurer and that person should send the money to Peter Zaremba. When these coins are sold, more can be obtained

You can approach coin and service clubs, schools, churches, relatives, friends, health care providers, professional or voluntary organizations, the list is endless.

At the August board meeting I suggested that we have a contest to see which chapter could sell the most coins. Are you up to that challenge?

If you have questions, comments, or additional ideas to promote coin sales, please reply to this email or call me at 517-960-5575.

Thank you in advance for your help with coin sales. Let's make the Michigan affiliate proud! Stay tuned for more details.

    Sincerely,

    Mary Ann Rojek
