One thing I could share is that they provide accessible formats of
newsletters and membership handbooks. I received mine in braille and get the
monthly newsletter through this group here. They are dedicated to making the
world a better place for all peoples and have a committed focus to the
blind, on a variety of levels, public service and civic responsibility,
working with youth groups to build a strong citizenry amongst other things.
And they do this world wide as well. There site is accessible and could
provide answers to your questions about becoming a Lioness.

Hello all!

I've just joined this list in hopes of getting more information to help
decide if joining the Lions Club is right for me.

I've been asked repeatedly to join my local Lions. Last week I did a
presentation on guide dogs at one of the regular meetings. It went very
well. I was also able to meet with some of the members.

I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, so it is common for
people to tell me that they've seen me here or there or doing something or
another. So many of the members knew who I was, but I'm still figuring out
who's who.

I have very, very little knowledge or experience with the Lions at the
local, state or national level. Please tell me what I need to know from a
blindness and NFB perspective so I can make an informed decision on whether
or not to become involved in the Lions.

Julie
