I agree here with you for sure. the opportunity to shift perspectives and
misperceptions of the blind are ever present, and another venue for doing
education and outreach about the abilities of the blind.

While I am not a Lion, my experience from speaking to hundreds of 
Lions Clubs, over the years, is that what you say tends to be 
somewhat true.  The view of many, but not all Lions, is different 
from ours.  However, because not that many blind people are involved, 
you can also have great influence over how your local people think!
