Subject: [EXTERNAL] [508] Section 508 College Student Summer Internship
Opportunity at NASA
Hello Section 508 Colleagues:
I have just posted a NASA summer internship opportunity for a college
student to support our NASA Section 508 program. I would appreciate you
forwarding this to any college students you know who may be interested and
qualified.
Here are the requirements:
Student must be currently enrolled full time in an accredited
college/university
Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Student should be majoring/minoring in computer science, management
information systems or have completed courses in these fields
Preferably student will be a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
Students submit an application at intern.nasa.gov. Once they are in the
system, they will be able to choose and apply to multiple internships. The
title of this one is: Implementing Accessible Information and Communication
Technology At NASA. The deadline for submissions is early March I believe,
but chances are increased for selection the earlier an application is
provided. Also, NASA internships are highly competitive, so applying early
is a student's best bet for being considered. There is a $7300 stipend for
the 10 week summer internship.
Finally, we are assuming the internship will be virtual, but a trip or two
to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD may be required for
badging and securing IT. Therefore, being located in the area is a bonus.
Please email me directly with any questions, and thanks for your help!
