Research Participation Request: Designed with You
The below research participant solicitation is being provided for
informational purposes only. The National Federation of the Blind has
no involvement in this research, but we believe that it may
contribute to our research mission.
Research Title: Designed with You
Being conducted by: Johns Hopkins School of Nursing
Purpose of the Study
This research study is looking to meet with unpaid family
caregivers/care partners who have physical or sensory disabilities of
their own. From this research we hope to learn more about this lived
experience, identify unmet needs and partner with these individuals
to develop a tailored intervention.
Role of the Participants and Anticipated Length of the Study
Each participant is asked to join a 30 minutes to 2 hour in-person
interview at the location, date and time of the participants
choosing. Most interviews are in the home as it is easier for people
to share about their daily activities of caring for their family
member. There is a second phase of the study that is IRB approved
that would include participation in a workshop with other
participants, former caregivers with disabilities and community
health partners to identify unmet needs and discuss possible interventions.
Proposed Participant Compensation
Yes, $50 VISA gift card for the interview
$40 VISA gift card for participation in the workshop
