I have corrected errors, thanks to Deb Moore, and this is what happened at our state conference on May 15. Ed Meskys, secretary.

Board/convention minutes for May 15, 2010.

Registration began at 10 AM in a room in the lobby level of the E.F. Lane Hotel in Keene,NH, and the meeting was called to order at 11 AM. The only constitutional officer present was Secretary Ed Meskys, who was the acting chairperson. All other constitutional officer positions were vacant. Other Board members present WereWayne Harvey and Steve Yerardi, plus David Brownell, who arrived late. Absent Board member was Donald Little, with the remaining Board position also vacant. Guest and national representative Ron Gardner was present. Participants included members from the Lakes Region Chapter, the Monadnock Chapter and members at large. There was a quorum of the existing board, but this was not a requirement for a legal convention to take place.

First order of business was the annual elections. Since the nominating committee was not present to make a report, all nominations were accepted from the floor. Cassandra McNabb was elected president unopposed, and took over chairing the meeting. The following officers were elected to the board: Steve Yerardi, first vice president; Andrew Harmon, second vice president; Ron Fergason, treasurer; Ed Meskys remained as secretary. Two untitled positions on the Board were then vacant, and three persons were nominated to fill them: Carolyn Corrigan, Chelsey Doranleau, and Deb Moore. Carolyn Corrigan and Deb Moore were elected. National rep Ron Gardner made a few complimentary remarks on the election and the board before we broke for our sandwich & salad buffet lunch.

The secretary gave a brief summary of the past year's board activities. Representatives of the Monadnock and Lakes Region Chapters and the Student Division gave reports on their activities for the last year. No one from the North Country Chapter was present. No report was made.

Several members volunteered to work on a scholarship committee. President McNabb and Ron Gardner encouraged all to sign up on the National "Pre-Authorized Check Plan" to support our organization with personal donations above and beyond our affiliate dues.

Our National representative, Ron Gardner, spoke about our coming together to work for our common goals and plans for growth.

President McNabb will be our official delegate to the National convention in Dallas, Texas, and Ed Meskys will be alternate delegate. The state organization will provide two sleeping rooms, one a men's dorm, and the other a woman's. $500 will be made available to each attendee to help cover travel, incidental, and meal expenses. Members were encouraged to attend.

Our new president spoke of the need to review and revise our state constitution, and plans to hold the next quarterly board meeting in Concord in August. She also spoke of the need to grow the affiliate with new members and new chapters.

The official meeting adjourned about 4:30 PM, and we re-gathered at 6 PM for informal dinner, socializing, and networking in a room provided by the hotel. This gathering broke up around 9 PM.

I finally finished writing up our convention. I am only showing it to the
officers' list while I wait for corrections and additions. My Braille notes
were not perfect, so I might have left something out. Please correct
spelling on names. After they are vetted I will show them to others to let
the world know what we are doing.

Who is currently on the NH officers' list?
