Importance: High

You are urged, if you have not already done so, to contact Members of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Pensions and Labor to advocate for the removal in S. 1356, Sec. 3 of language which relocates the Rehabilitation Services Administration, Department of Education to the Department of Labor.

While many advocates have been told by some Senate staff that the "simple" move of RSA from Education to the Department of Labor will have no impact on the services provided, it is imperative that the Senate HELP Committee and staff understand that the impact is not benign, and that the VR customers will be significantly impacted and will not have access to individualized, comprehensive, rehabilitation services specifically designed to meet their needs, abilities, strengths, capabilities and informed choice which result in employment/career in a competitive integrated setting. It matters where the Public VR Program is housed!!! This is not an inconsequential move.

Every voice is needed, the Senate Committee Staff need to be deluged with messages demanding that RSA remain in the Department of Education.

Every minute counts. Please take action, and seek support and action from your families, friends, colleagues.

Please share any comments you receive from your contacts with Joan.Holleran at doe.nh.gov

It has come to our attention that the e-mails that have been provided were not all correct. Below are the e-mails for the HELP Committee staff that have direct responsibility for S.1356. Please use this listing in future advocacy. .

Here is the list of the correct emails. Sorry for the confusion: Please note: there is an underscore between the First Name and the Last name.
