Electronic Absentee Application Process
Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State
The Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State is excited to announce that
for the first time any New Mexico voter who is blind or visually impaired
may now request an absentee ballot be sent to them electronically. This new
feature also, for the first time enables you to mark your ballot using your
own low-vision or non-visual access technology. 
Visit the Voter Information Portal at www.NMVote.org to complete an online
absentee ballot application. The last day to request an electronic absentee
ballot through the portal is Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
If you are not already registered to vote, you may also use this portal to
do so. The deadline to register to vote for the 2018 Primary Election is May
8, 2018. To participate in the Primary Election, you must be registered with
one of New Mexico's three major political parties - Democratic, Libertarian,
or Republican.
Here is what you will need to complete the online absentee application or
voter registration process:
*	A state-issued identification number
*	Your date-of-birth
*	Your Social Security Number
Here are the 2018 Primary Election important dates you need to know:
*	April 30: Online Absentee Ballot Application becomes available
*	May 8: Voter registration ends
*	May 8: First day absentee ballots will be issued
*	May 8: In-person voting on a voting machine starts in each county
(contact your county clerk for location and hours)
*	May 19: Countywide early voting starts
*	June 2: Countywide early voting ends
*	June 5: Primary Election Day
*	June 5: Last day to return an absentee ballot to an Election Day
polling location
