Ride ABQ RIDE for Free All Day on Election Day
ALBUQUERQUE – You can ride ABQ RIDE’s fixed route buses and Sun Vans for free on Election Day, Nov. 5, 2019. The free fares run from the beginning of service until the end of service that day.
The City of Albuquerque and ABQ RIDE are waving all fares for the day to make sure all voters get a chance to go to the polls.
While no fares will be charged on that day, riders will still be able to buy bus passes as usual.
Albuquerque joins other transit departments in communities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Tampa, Louisville, San Antonio, Columbus and Richmond that have either waived fares on past Election Days or are planning to wave them for Election Days this year.
###
ABQ RIDE is Albuquerque‘s principal form of public transportation. It logs a daily average of 160,000 Passenger Miles on its buses.
