Classroom Teacher
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently recruiting for a Classroom Teacher. This successful individual will have the flexibility in background and training to provide a comprehensive educational program to elementary students with visual impairments, and/or multiple disabilities.  Experience with elementary school-aged students is required.  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education is required and/or Elementary Education preferred. Certification in Vision is preferred but can be acquired after hire. Must possess or be eligible for NM Public Education Department licensure. Will be required to become Braille proficient.  Full‑time, 9-month contract.  Position open until filled.
 
 
Teacher for the Visually Impaired
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently recruiting for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This successful individual will have the flexibility in background and training to provide a comprehensive educational program to all grade level students with visual impairments, and multiple disabilities.  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education is preferred and/or Certification in Vision is required. Must possess or be eligible for NM Public Education Department licensure. Being Braille proficient is required. Full‑time, 9-month contract.  Position open until filled.
