Developmental Vision Specialist – NMSBVI Infant Toddler Program
 
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Infant Toddler Program is seeking a Developmental Vision Specialist.  This individual will provide family/home intervention services that support young children 0-3 years old with visual impairments/developmental delays.   Collaboration and team work with the child’s family and therapy team is an intricate part of the job.
 
This position will serve primarily the metro and surrounding areas of New Mexico.  Must be eligible for a Developmental Specialist II or III license with the New Mexico FIT Program, must have obtained a BA or higher in Early Childhood, Special Education, Child Development, or Occupational, Speech, Physical Therapy or Orientation and Mobility certification and have experience working with young children who are blind or have visual impairments. Prefer MA level, bi‑lingual (English/Spanish); experience in home-based settings and studies in Visual Impairment or be willing to acquire. Will be required to become Braille proficient.  Eleven-month contract.  Position starts January 2021.  A valid driving license is required and extensive driving is a job requirement.  Applications accepted until filled.
