Subject: ABQ Ride Forward Project

Good morning,

ABQ Transit is undertaking an effort to improve the fixed-route bus system.
They are inviting input and participation from the community. Participation
ranges from completing a survey to participating in focus groups to
participating on an advisory committee. I am participating on the advisory
committee.

As a minimum, please complete the survey to make your views known if you
ride the bus, work with individuals who ride the bus, or have an opinion on
bus service in Albuquerque. There are also a couple of interesting documents
to be found on the Website. One is a long document prepared by the transit
consultant that describes a number of factors that are typically considered
as transit departments develop their community bus networks. Another
document provides the results of a recent survey of bus riders that provides
interesting information about where they are headed, whether they have their
own vehicles, whether they have jobs, and other information about who they
are and why they ride the bus.

Again, this effort is focused on the fixed-route bus system rather than the
paratransit system. Best,

Jim
