Developmental Vision Specialist
 
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Infant Toddler
Program is seeking a Developmental Vision Specialist. This position will
serve Northwest NM and Metro (Albuquerque area) with travel to other areas
of the state as needed.
 
Must be eligible for a Developmental Specialist II or III license with the
New Mexico FIT Program. Must have a BA/BS or higher in Early Childhood, or
related field. This position requires continuing education and enrollment in
and completion of the Visual Impairment Program (VIP) at NMSU. This position
will require training to become proficient in Braille.
 
This individual will provide early intervention services in home and
community settings that support young children 0-3 years old with or at risk
for visual impairments. This includes collaboration with Early Intervention
and Early Childhood agencies. A valid driver's license is a requirement, as
driving and travel are part of this position. Prefer experience in early
intervention/home-visiting and experience working with young children who
are blind or visually impaired.  Applications accepted until filled.
