Developmental Vision Specialist
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Infant Toddler
Program is seeking a Developmental Vision Specialist. This position will
serve primarily Southern New Mexico.
Must be eligible for a Developmental Specialist II or III license with the
New Mexico Early Childhood and Early Care Department, Family Infant Toddler
Program. Must have a BA/BS or higher in Early Childhood, or related field.
This position requires continuing education about Visual Impairments and a
willingness to enroll in the Visual Impairment Program (VIP) at NMSU. This
position will require training to become proficient in Braille.
This individual will provide family/home intervention services that support
young children 0-3 years old with or at risk for visual impairments. This
includes collaboration with Early Intervention and Early Childhood agencies.
A valid driver's license is a requirement, as driving and travel are part of
this position. Prefer experience in early intervention/home-visiting and
experience working with young children who are blind or visually impaired.
Prefer bilingual English/Spanish. Applications accepted until filled.
