So the people run a training center and are role models but they can't get
around their own house?

Joseph,

I thought about watching it, decided to give it a pass and waited to hear
opinions of others. Apparently, there were many facets of the presentation
of the blind couple that sent NFB type blind people up in flames. I've
heard the bit you mentioned about how it's not safe for blind people to
cross the street. Also, apparently, it came out that it is not safe for
blind people to walk around in houses....

Okay, I have to 'fess up. I was so distracted by my feelings about that bit
of nonsense that I walked out into the other room and tripped over my guide
dog. /lol/ Way to prove a point there, eh?

A humber of guide dog users who watched had issues with the way the guide
dog was presented and a couple of things the guide dog apparently did, but
reports are confusing since the people who were watching had to rely on
friends or spouses for the actual visual details. I have mixed reports.

Anyway, it sounds to me like Katie was right in her summation. Unless you
needed something to tick you off that night, you didn't miss much. /smile/

Katie watches this show with her mom Sunday nights, saw the
beginning, and said she just could not stand to finish watching it.
I asked, "Oh c'mon, it can't be that bad, can it?" Apparently, yes
it can be.

I know they take people who are really bad off and living in unsafe
surroundings, etc. It's what they do. But apparently this couple
was spouting off things like how it's unsafe for a blind person to
ever cross a street, etc.

It's too bad. Not because the show is a bad thing-actually I
generally think the show's concept is pretty cool. That said, this
couple needed a lot more help than a new house, from what Katie was
saying. Could anyone else stomach the show long enough to offer
another opinion? (I presently have no TV.)

Joseph
