Hello Robert,

We do a lot with science, here in Michigan, with our young blind folks.
Birds are a main focus of a lot of our time spent. I have always wanted a
collection of native Michigan song birds in actual size so people could
understand what these birds are actually like. I understand that some of
these may be difficult, like Geese, Swans and other larger Water fowl
species.

Second, It would be great to have insects, both actual size and x times
larger for detail sake. Again, the relative comparisons would be helpful.
I'm not really sure if the actual sizes would be all that helpful, but it is
worth considering. These same comments apply to reptiles and amphibians,
though these seem to be more plentiful from various companies.

Right now, we are looking for a model of the human ear which can be taken
apart to view the various parts. This is available for around $250. A
lending library would save us money on something which we would only use
infrequently.

Thank you for your work on this idea.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

Subject: [Nfb-science] Tactile Model Lending Library: What would like to
borrow

Hello:

Recently, I posted information about the Tactile Model Lending Library
I am trying to start. For my detailed proposal, I need to describe the kinds
of items the library will have. The essential question is what would you
like to borrow? Here are some possibilities:

1. Replicas of archaeological artifacts.

2. Animal models, dinosaurs, farm animals, jungle animals, fish,
birds, insects etc.

3. Vehicles, cars, trains, planes, boats etc.

4. Cultural models, dwellings, dolls, tools etc.

5. Anatomical models.

6. Models of famous landmarks and buildings.

Please send your comments to me at rjaquiss at earthlink.net.

I need more YouTube likes. Thank you.

Regards,

Robert
