>Independent Living Supervisor
>Responsible for the direct supervision of seven rehabilitation 
>teachers, two project specialists and one support 
>personnel.  Interview and recommend for hire rehabilitation 
>teachers, project specialists and administrative support 
>personnel.  Mentor, train, evaluate, and discipline said 
>staff.  Train staff to ensure competent, efficient operations of 
>division, adequate cross-training and job enrichment.  Promote the 
>agency's positive  philosophy of blindness and direct the delivery 
>of independent living services to consumers.
>Implement strategies to achieve programmatic goals and evaluate 
>program performance.  Monitor trends in demographics, available
>resources, policies and programs, and other factors affecting independent
>living needs and services.  Participate in national, state, and regional
>conferences addressing independent living issues, particularly as they
>relate to the older blind population.
>Interpret and assist in implementing federal and state independent 
>living policy. Complete required federal and state reports and 
>collaborate with the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) 
>as well as the Statewide Independent Living council (SILC) to
