Hi Barb and all, and Happy Easter!
I have Comcast Cable, and my remote will talk to me  when I hit the channel 
buttons, telling me the channel, what's on the channel.  Even what the show 
is about.  Among other things.      I can record shows myself, and play back 
the shows without any sighted assistance! The remote will talk and help you 
navogate anything you want!   It's great!
