Pooh, too bad it is the final one. I enjoyed this last one so much and am talking a couple of my seniors to join on Thursday. These calls are great!

Subject: [Nfb-seniors] Final spring 2017 Senior Division conference call

Hello Everyone:
This is a friendly reminder that the 4th and final Senior Division conference call will take place next Thursday, June 15 at the usual times:
4:00 Eastern,
3:00 Central, 2:00 Mountain and
1:00 Pacific time.
Shelley Copel will moderate this call, Sources of Learning Other Than The State Agency Serving The Blind. We will use the usual numbers:
712 432-1500 with access code: 759633 followed by the pound sign. You will then be asked if the access code is correct. If it is, press 1 and you are connected to the call.
We also ask that you then put your phone in "mute" mode by pressing star 6. When you wish to enter the discusion, press star 6 once again to "unmute" your phone. This will keep background noise from disturbing those listening to the participants. You will be able to hear everything in "mute" mode and, also participate by unmuting your phone when you wish to do so.
On Monday, July 10 the Senior Division is hosting a seminar, A Day In The Life of a Newly Blind Senior, cost %s5 per attendee. If you know of anyone who might especially benefit from this seminar who is attending the national convention of the NFB, please urge them to attend.
Our annual division meeting will take place, Wednesday, afternoon July 12. Judy Sanders has already requested your assistance with our "not-so-silent" auction. We will hear from leaders who have formed new statewide senior divisions, see the Seniors In Charge new DVD from the Colorado Center, and hear from seniors around the country sharing their story of being a senior and losing vision and learning to deal with physical challenges of seniorhod.
This year we are sponsoring a Senior Retreat October 8-14 at Rocky Bottom, South Carolina to give seniors the opportunity to learn nonvisual skills of blindness especially if it is not taught or encouraged in their local area or state. Blind instructors will teach classes in cane travel, beginning or intermediate Braille, cooking and daily living skills, using adaptive aids and technology such as talking screen readers for computers. Discussions and leisure activities are also apart of this retreat.
There is a cost of %s325 per candidate. Deadline to apply is is August 1. Space is limited so, if you are interested, please don't delay to apply. An interview by officers of the Senior Division will also be a part of the application process. Applications are available from Mr. David Houck, 119 South Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 29205. I will send a separate flyer with more details in another message.
Finally, we are having a booth in the Exhibit Hall this year to fundraise especially for this retreat. We will be selling jewelry from the Southwest Native American style jewelry. Please find us in the Exhibit Hall. We will be most happy to serve you.
I look forward to meet and speak with you in Orlando very soon.
Ruth Sager,
President, Senior Division of the NFB
