Coming soon! the annual meeting of the NFB Senior Division on July 5 including the ever-popular not-so-silent auction.

It is all a part of the National Federation of the Blind convention in Orlando. Our auction will work like this:

Beginning at 12:30 p.m. come to the room listed in your agenda to register. In the back of our meeting room stop and see what there is for bidding. We plan to have a variety of gift goods and a few delectable eats including but not limited to Barbara Pierce’s to die-for brownies.

For one hour we will record your bids. You can raise them any time within the hour. Throughout our afternoon agenda we will take some the items and have a more traditional auction. All money benefits the Senior Division treasury.

How can you help?

We need your contributions. In particular, gift cards from national chains valuing at least $25 are most appreciated. If you are coming to convention just bring your donation to our division meeting by 12:30. If you are not coming, contact me to find out where to mail your gift.

We need bid takers. Three people are needed to take bids during the first part of the auction. It is necessary to keep a record in braille or print of the bids.

We need runners. When bids are accepted Someone must deliver the item and collect the money.

And most important, we need bidders.

Let’s make our last year in Florida our most successful.
