Hi,
This is Lauren Merryfield. I was Laurie Beach when I came into the NFB. I married, so I was Laurie Eckery. I have a daughter, son-in-law and a grandson, granddoggie and two grandkitties.

I’ve held several jobs over the years, remarried, and my second husband passed on after ten years.

I am a poet, prose-writer, and published author.

I am an avid cat-PURRson; yes, one of those!  No, not the kind who would keep 200 cats in a small home.  That would be terrible and sad for the porr little kitties.

It is interesting how so many of us who were young Federationists have now reached the other end of Federationhood. I am glad we have had the NFB all these years where we belong.

I have tried to help people who were going blind realize they can still function. This is very difficult because some people just give up and stubbornly will not relate to alternative methods for doing the everyday things they did formerly.

I say a big hello to those of you who I know sort of, those who I know well, and those whom I do not know.
