SUPER IMPORTANT!

Hi You All

RE: We now have two email lists for communication; later today!

It seems that most affiliate and divisions are moving toward having two
email list: one for business and one for discussion/sharing. Here within the
NFB Seniors Division, we have also been kicking this one around, and have
decided to do it. Members do not have to join in on both lists; Dave will
have it all up later today

What you will first notice, is that you will receive an email inviting you
to join the NFB Seniors Discussion list. And so you have two options: First,
to not join, by not answering the message. You will still be a member of our
existing announce list; read its description below, for there is a new
feature that you must be aware of.

Second option: If you do want to join in on the discussion and sharing that
the new list is promoting. answer the invite email. (I am joining it; that's
just me, you do what works for you.

Below here is the text that is found on the information page, when someone
either thinks about joining, or leaving one or both of our lists:

*(Robert, speaking- This is the first of two descriptions; it is basically a
form of our existing list, with new restrictions.)

This list is sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind, NFB,

and the Seniors Division of the NFB.

This is the NFB-Seniors list. It is an announce-only list and will be used
to disseminate information to our membership.

About NFB-Seniors list- Its main purpose is to inform and educate our
membership; without overloading the inbox.

Expect that you will receive only messages meting these guidelines:

Division business; notice of special events; and other information deemed to
be of a valuable nature to enhance the lives of Seniors living with
blindness.

The nature of restrictions associated with this list, relate only to the
posting of a message.

When anyone wishes to post a message, it will be reviewed by designated
members of the NFB seniors Division's board.

If the stated purpose and content of the message meets the above guidelines,
it will be posted.

Note: The joining of this list is not restricted.

In fact, we encourage membership, by anyone who is interested in learning
about the human potential to live with blindness, and not allow it to stop
them from living the life, he or she wants.

You can find the other list, the NFB Seniors Discussion list at:

*(Robert, again- here is the new discussion list.)

This list is sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind, NFB,

and the Seniors Division of the NFB.

The National Federation of the Blind Seniors Division sponsors two e-mail
lists: this is the NFB-Seniors-Discussion list,

it is an unrestricted list, to promote communication within our membership.

About NFB-Seniors-Discussion list- It is a save and open forum to interact
with one another!

For the collective experience of the Federation has shown us that the best
source of information and encouragement to successfully live the life you
want,

comes from interacting with successful blind people.

Note- this list is both open to join, and to post to. We only ask, and will
monitor and insist upon,

that list behavior must be consistent with our Federation Code of Conduct;
the code can be found at this link -

Hi Dave

Here is what I am proposing will be the wording found on the information
page, for each of the two different types of lists that the NFB seniors
Division is working to set up. (There are two short blocks of text: Take a
look: Am I using the correct terminology for what the operational
characteristics will be, that we are going to go with? Also. do you have any
other comments, an/or suggestions for improvement?
