[nfb-talk] Screen reader for new computer

Hello!

I wrote Bill privately but I say consider System Access and the System
Access Mobile Network. Both are easier on the pocketbook and one can do 90
percent of what you really need to accomplish with your PC. One may need
Window Eyes or JFW for the other ten percent but I really enjoy using it!
It is the only screen reader one can use for free and one can try both the
screen reader and network for thirty days for free!

For more info, go to:
http://www.serotek.com
If you want to try the screen reader online, go to:
http://www.satogo.com
Follow the prompts. Turn off your screen reader before pressing enter on
that site.
If not your main screen reader, it works well as a secondary screen reader.
I use SA 90 percent of the time but I also have Window Eyes. I may not have
purchased Window Eyes had System Access Worked as well as it does today! It
seems to work quite well with Windows Seven and 64 bit systems if one needs
a screen reader in a hurry! I won't have anything Freedom Scientific since
I've had a bad experience with that company!

For what it is worth!

HTH

Jim

Bill: You are most certainly correct in your thinking. Continue using
JAWS or another full-fledged screen reader. Narrator is definitely bare
bones at best.

Good day, list.

I just wanted to make sure I have the correct idea as I'm about to decide on
a lap top system to replace my old and outdated desk top.

I've been familiar with Jaws on my current computer. For some time now
though Windows has had the Narrator program built in to the operating
system, and I've heard of one or two blind people using that for speech
access.

I believe it's correct to say though that this is bare bones access and I
should still add Jaws to the system for truly tailored access in particular
as I am totally blind.

I wanted to double check my thought process before I make the final
decisions about my purchases.
