Darian:

You make a valid point. However, the essence of the NFB mission is to work toward the complete integration of the blind into society on a basis of equality with the sighted. Nothing is stopping you or any of us from participating in other community activities and causes; indeed, I would opine that this is the very thing we are striving for. Hence, I believe that we, the NFB, should stick to blindness-related activities and encourage to the utmost our members to take part in the *regular* community's causes, organizations and activities rather than involving NFB in them as their focus is not primarily that with which NFB is concerned.
