i wish I would've had that sort of school in Pittsburgh. our "school for
the blind" became null of academics in the mid 70's before my time. While
I received preschool training at the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind
Children i was fully mainstreamed for all 12 years of grade schooling with
a traveling vision itinerant who would go to two other districts around my
area. I was the only blind student in both HS and my college
graduation classes. How many true academic blind schools still exist
arround the US? i'm just curious to know.
