[NFB-Utah] Upcoming activities for the Northern Utah Chapter of Utah NFB

Hello all Northern Utah Federationists!

 

We all hope you are enjoying your summer so far. For many of us its action packed and includes a trip to Austin for the National Convention in early July. 

 

But before that, the chapter is going to have its annual chapter BBQ party. We usually have it in June and that is going to continue, but this is the first time we will be doing it under our new moniker of "National Federation of the Blind Northern Utah Chapter." 🥳🥳🥳 It will be 6 PM June 26th at Barbie Elliott's house at 357 Coventry Circle, Fruit Heights UT.  Bring a side dish or dessert to share, the chapter is providing some of the main dish items. Bring in more blind/ visually impaired people if you know of any, to build up our chapter membership!

 

In July we traditionally count attendance at national convention as the meeting. The ones who stay behind often listen to the live feed of the sessions available to stream, including the keynote speech at the NFB banquet on the last night. Sometimes people congregate to do so, having listening parties. Here is the link to the June Presidential Release, that's what we have for now.

The traditional activity we'll hold in August is going to be the "Farmers Market and Farrs Ice Cream" one. But again, for the first time under our new name! 😆🥳 Saturday August 15th, we will meet up at the Ogden Farmers Market on 25th Street at 10:30 to have a walk around there. Then its just a short stroll over to the Farrs Ice Cream shop near the Ogden LDS Temple. We beat the heat in the air conditioning with your favorite flavor(s). Its always the August plan of delicious fun. Again, bring along friends for one of  our favorite mottos:  Let's go  build the Federation!
