[Nfb-web] Unable to Reset Domain Password

Hello Mike and everyone,

The problem is on the domain host and not NFB Net. The username and
password for this domain has never been changed. Neither Dave nor I would be
able to update the name servers as that must be done on the domain server
side.

No I did not have an opportunity to test their new Web site hence do not
have the new site URL. What I do know is that they built the new Web site
using Wordpress. Is there a way to search the Wordpress site to obtain the
new URL and what do I need to do to redirect visitors to it from the old
site? If we can do that then visitors will land on the new site not the old
one and we can continue to work on the password issue so we can update the
site name servers and dave can remove the old site from NFB Net freeing up
the space for another affiliate to use. This has been going on way too long
and I want to get it out of my hair so I can move on to other projects.

Godaddy has a captcha so I won't go there. I haven't checked out
register.com. Do either of these domain hosts offer automatic renuel of site
domains? If not I also won't go there. Vivvio Technologies has humans that
will take your order for services including domain registration. They will
work with you to troubleshoot problems and offer automatic domain renuel.
I'll be transfering my personal domain over to them next month as it is due
to expire. Their URL is:
http://www.viviotech.net

Should you want to contact them for services please tell them that Peter
Donahue sent you. All the best.

Peter,

Option 1:
Surely you know the URL of the new website. I assume you did some
testing of it before the desion to go live was made.

I am also assuming you have admin rights to the old site. If you don't
go through that web provider and get them restored maybe you would
have better luck then with the regstar.

Then just log in to the old website and change the index.html page so
that it has a meta redirect in the header section. Problem solved.

Options 2:
When I do a Who is Domain search for nfb-tennessee.org I see that the
Name Servers are ns1.nfbnet.org and ns2.nfbnet.org. Can David manual
change the DNS entries on these servers????

Mike
