If you're just looking for a decent web host, I recommend dreamhost. 
Their prices are amazing and you get everything you need.
If you want to configure everything yourself, I recommend Linode. The hardware is amazing and they're always upgrading. It's a vps, so you'll have to configure everything all yourself, but if you can do it it's worth it.
