[Nfb-web] Druple vs WordPress

Drupal, WordPress, et al, cPanel are available for those affiliates, chapters, divisions etc., that have accounts on the Nfbnet.org server.

I personally thinkg it's great.  This group is dormant all too much of the time.  It's nice to see people come out of hiding for a topic.

Do you plan to do your own hosting, or do you plan to find a hosting subscription somewhere?  Most paid unix webhosting packages come with CPanel and when you log into CPanel there is an applet called fantastico which will run install scripts for hundreds of popular web tools including both drupal and wordpress.  Believe it or not, this is actually the easiest way for a new user to install drupal.

Otherwise, if you built your own webserver then you have to download the appropriate drupal package from the site, set up the appropriate squl databases, directories and permissions, and so on.  Except that there may be a handy install script for that case too.  I use a paid shared hosting plan that came with cpanel and so I would just log in and use the script from fantastico.
