Hi Brian,
What you charge depends on the level of experience you have and the
services you can provide.
If you're proposing to be a wordpress designer, only, then that is probably
worth between $15 and $25 per hour.
If you're proposing to be a wordpress developer, that's worth between $30
and $50 ber hour. The diference is that designers basically set up,
install premade themes and plugins, and add content. Developers use php
and cms to design custome themes and codebases tailored to companies and
specific requirements.
If you are accustomed to more than one content management system you are
worth a bit more.
If you want to add hosting, graphic design, content generation, and so on,
those services have their own costs. You build a quote for some one based
on the customer's needs and your ability to deliver.
I charge $25 per hour. I know three CMS and can generate content, but I do
not know enough code to charge much more than what I do. I can't be
building custome themes and website features for people. I can look a lot
of things up, but it would take me so much time to self teach, I'd be
breaking the customer's bank. I can generate content, also for about $25
ber hour, but I'm hopeless with pictures beyond rotating and resizing them.
They have to come to me ready for prime time.
Hope this helps,
Erik
