Good Afternoon,

Thank you for all you do to provide services to our clients who have
sensory loss. We want to make you aware that Vocational Rehabilitation
(VR) has both the capacity and processes in place to handle referrals and
therefore, will not need to renew its contract with the GIB intake unit.
Effective July 1st, all referrals for VR intakes should be routed to our
local offices. Phone calls to the GIB Intake Line (1-888-226-3444) will be
forwarded to the GVRA *Customer Care line (1-844-367-4872),* where
information regarding services can be obtained but the individual will be
directed to contact their local VR office in order to apply.

GIB will stop taking new referrals/intakes after COB Friday, June 19th and
already has plans in place to transfer cases that are in pending status. I
encourage you to reach out to your clients to ensure that they follow up on
any outstanding documents and intake requests.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to
Jared Sims until June 30th or to your local VR office.

Please stay safe.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
