MARTA SEEKS NEW MEMBERS FOR ITS RIDERS' ADVISORY COUNCIL Council Provides
Vital Feedback on Customer Experience

ATLANTA - The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is
seeking people to serve on its Riders' Advisory Council (RAC), an
all-volunteer group that provides feedback on improving the overall transit
experience for customers. The inaugural council members are stepping down in
May following a two-year term.

The council is comprised of 25 members representing MARTA's diverse customer
base and hailing from its four service jurisdictions, City of Atlanta, and
Clayton, DeKalb, and Fulton Counties. All are eligible to sit on the council
except for MARTA employees, owners or employees of business with active
MARTA contracts, elected officials, and those younger than 18.

"The RAC offers a forum for transit stakeholders to share their concerns and
opinions, and members serve as an important link to the communities we
serve," said MARTA Chief Customer Experience Officer Rhonda Allen. "I
encourage transit advocates and critics to apply so together we can ensure
customer input is part of the decision-making process."

The council will meet the first Wednesday of each month, beginning in June
to provide input on an array of topics including helping us to improve
mobile apps and our digital customer communication platforms, rail station
appearance and amenities, and the redesign of our bus network.

RAC members will also learn about the inner workings of the transit system,
receiving tours of MARTA's operating facilities, and briefings on proposed
transit initiatives and MARTA's governance and operations.

The previous RAC was involved with the interior and exterior designs of the
new railcars, provided suggestions to lessen the customer impact during
expansion and enhancement projects, and recommended installing a signaled
crosswalk at Civic Center station, which will be completed this spring.

To learn more about the RAC and apply to be a member visit MARTA
(itsmarta.com)<https://itsmarta.com/marta-rac.aspx>. You can also pick up an
application at the customer information booth at Five Points Station or at
MARTA Headquarters, located at 2424 Piedmont Rd. NE in Atlanta.

Customers are invited to connect with MARTA anytime through our customer
call center at 404-848-5000 and social media pages @MARTAservice on Twitter,
@MARTAtransit on Facebook, and @marta_explorers on Instagram.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
