The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

Hello from the National Association of Guide Dog Users,
Please share this email wherever appropriate.
NAGDU is hosting two meetings at this year’s National Convention at the
Rosen Centre in Orlando Florida. Because this email contains a lot of
information, we have divided it into heading sections, which should make it
easier to navigate. Please visit the NAGDU website, www.nagdu.org, for the
latest updates concerning NAGDU's presence at the NFB National Convention.
Annual Seminar

Salon 2.

Annual Business Meeting
The annual business meeting will take place on Friday, July 5, 6-10 PM
Eastern in Salon 3.

Come learn how to make an informed choice when deciding to get a guide dog.
Get current updates from our legal counsel about matters pertaining to
guide dog users: airline and rideshare travel. Find out what NAGDU has been
up to over the past year and elect our leaders!
Please note, to be eligible to vote, you must attend the meeting in-person,
and will need to be current with your annual dues. NAGDU is accepting dues
until July 3, 2024, at 11:59 PM Eastern. Dues can be paid using
treasurer at nagdu.org through the Cash App, Zelle, or PayPal. You can also
find this information by visiting https://nagdu.org/become-member
Registration
While the meetings are free to attend whether you are a NAGDU member or
not, we kindly ask that you consider registering for the meeting(s) you
plan on attending. Those who register and are there in person have the
chance to win door prizes.
Are you interested in attending the NAGDU meetings but are not able to be
there in person? That's okay. Both meetings will be broadcasted over Zoom.
After registering, you will receive an email with your registration details
along with the Zoom connection information.

NAGDU Membership
We will be collecting membership dues before the Annual Seminar, and at the
end of the Annual Business meeting. Dues are $5 per person and are good
through the end of the calendar year. Becoming a member of NAGDU means you
are eligible to vote during our Annual Meeting.
NAGDU Goodie Bags
Once again, the ever-popular NAGDU Goodie Bags for your guide dogs are
back! Each goodie bag is filled with a travel-sized hand sanitizer, a roll
of lavender-scented pick-up bags, and an Ark Naturals Brushless Toothpaste
dog chew treat. Goodie bags will be available in person at the NAGDU
Seminar and also at the NAGDU Annual Business meeting. To obtain a goodie
bag, please make a $5 donation to NAGDU. The funds collected will assist
with covering the cost of maintaining the dog relief area at convention.
Donations can be made with a credit/debit card, Zelle, PayPal, or cash
(correct change is appreciated).
If you are interested in obtaining a goodie bag but are not going to be at
national convention in person, you can still order one and it will be
mailed to you after the convention. The donation amount for these goodie
bags is $10. Whether you would like a goodie bag in person or mailed to
you, please use the following link to sign up and let us know how many you
would like.
https://bit.ly/nagdu-goodie-bags.
For those who purchase goodie bags, and will not be attending the
convention in-person, your goodie bags will be sent out during the first
week of August, and once your payments have been confirmed.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you in Orlando.
