The NFB of Georgia 52nd State convention is just two weeks away, and we have
planned you an agenda that is full of engaging workshops, powerful
presentations, fun, and community engagement. We welcome you to renew with
old friends and meet new ones, we believe we have something for everyone in
our convention plans this year. We have attached a copy of the agenda for
your use.
Here are some of our convention highlights.
NFBGA State Convention 50/50 drawing:
There is still time for you to purchase tickets for our 50/50 drawing, that
will be held during our NFBGA business meeting on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
The current collected amount in the drawing is $1,540.00 and growing.
Each ticket can be purchased for a donation of $5.00 per ticket.

2025 NFB of Georgia Affiliate 50/50 Drawing Fundraiser

The deadline for purchasing tickets online will be Friday, October 3, 2025,
this will allow us time to be sure that we can get your tickets into the
drawing by Sunday, October 12, 2025.
You do not need to be present to win. Once the drawing is completed, if you
are the winner, our Treasurer will contact you and you can tell her how you
would like to receive your prize. You may request your prize be sent to you
with the use of cash app, ZELLE or by Check.
Friday, October 10th, 9:00 A.M. -11:00 A.M. -BINGO
The Friends of GLS will be hosting BINGO for all, at this year's convention.
They will provide snacks and prizes, come and join us for your chance to
win.
Friday, October 10th, 5:00 P.M. -6:00 P.M. - NFBGA Philosophy Breakout
session
NFB Philosophy, Facilitated by Mr. Tracy Soforenko, NFB National
Representative
Join us and learn about the Philosophy of the National Federation of the
Blind, to obtain an understanding as to why Every day we work hard to raise
the expectations of all blind people.
Friday, October 10th at 7:00 P.M., -NFBGA Variety Show
we will host the first NFBGA Variety Show, if you have not already
registered for this event, please do not miss out. The variety show will
offer you singing, dancing, comedy, and spoken word. Hopefully, you have
already made arrangements to attend our show, but if not, then tickets can
be purchased for $10 when you pick up your registration packet upon your
arrival at convention.
Saturday, October 11th, 7:00 P.M. -10:30 P.M. -NFBGA Banquet
As a part of our annual banquet this year, we are offering you the Atlanta
City Nights. We ask you to stay and join us for a night of carnival games
guaranteed to entertain and engage you while having fun. At the start of the
carnival, you will be able to purchase tickets that will allow you to play
each game at a cost of three tickets per game. Tickets can only be purchased
from our Treasurer Ms. Nata Watkins. $10 will get you 12 tickets. If you are
a winner, you will be given a winner's coupon that you will be able to
exchange with Nata for your prize.
Our Atlanta City Nights Coordinators are Ms. Landree CULBREATH,
landreeculbreath at yahoo.com <mailto:landreeculbreath at yahoo.com> and/or Ms.
Page Carlisle, pcarlyle3272 at gmail.com <mailto:pcarlyle3272 at gmail.com> . They
are looking for participants to be a part of the annual horse race, if you
would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions concerning the game
night, please contact them.
*Important Information:
NFBGA Parents of Blind Children Division Kid's Camp:
Our Parents of Blind Children Division offers a Kids camp during convention,
this camp is designed for children ages 3 to 13, If you would like to enroll
you child in our camp during convention, please contact Ms. Shelby Bball,
sball at nfbga.org <mailto:sball at nfbga.org> and/or Ms. Jackie Anderson,
janderson at nfbga.org <mailto:janderson at nfbga.org> .
Please make note that any kids under the ages of three (3), must be
accompanied by a parent /guardian. Our camp does not have the staff to
handled children under three (3).
If your child is enrolled in kids camp, the Affiliate will be providing a
dinner meal on Saturday night, October 11th at 7:00 P.M. for the kid's
pajama party. We will not be providing any meals on Friday, October 10th,
nor Saturday, October 11th, during lunch. Please plan accordingly.
The camp hours are
Friday, October 10th,
2:00 P.M. -5:00 P.M.
Saturday, October 11th,
8:00A.M. -12:00 P.M.
2:00 P.M. -5:00 P.M.
7:00 P.M. -10:30 P.M.
