Brad,
In the best interest of both the Phoenix Chapter Fundraisers and the NFB Registration Team might I suggest that the attendee receive what has been prepared by the Registration team as this will keep our line moving. Then, the attendee can transfer their documents into their newly purchased lanyard and as you say "wear the lanyard proudly'. Then , at the end of convention should the attendee want to return the name badge with the lanyard that was given by Registration team he/she freely do so. Otherwise keep it.
I read your email below and felt your choice of words might add some confusion and chaos at the registration table because you are encouraging those who purchase lanyard from Phoenix Chapter Fundraiser to refuse to take lanyards at the Registration table. You stated and I quote"Please don't take that lanyard but use the one that our chapter is selling." ( A Better rephrase would be, Please transfer your documents to your newly purchased lanyard and wear it proudly"I do not know if you are aware that the registration team strives tirelessly to reduce the amount time each attendee has to spends at our table. This time is decreased with pre- registration . Knowing what the attendee wants allow the team to make lanyards in advance. Each lanyard includes attendee 's name badge with any meal ticket requests including the banquet. These items are inserted in the lanyard so once the attendee approaches the registration station and advise the team of their name all we have to do is verify payment has been made or collect it then, pass the attendee his Name Badge with lanyard. This keeps the line moving so others can be service quickly. Those who have not pre-register takes longer.Secondly, to my knowledge the NFB has never required that an attendee must leave his name badge and lanyard. However, it has been suggested that if the attendee left his name badge and lanyard it would reduce registration cost for the next year. This remains their FREE choice .
In summary , A better rephrase would be," Please transfer your documents to your newly purchased lanyard and wear it proudly" This would permit a timely acceptance of the Registration name badges; allow attendee to decide of whether to return badge with at end of convention and wear the newly purchased lanyard with pride producing a Win Win resolution for both groups.
Respectfully submitted
Voin

Subject: [NFBA-Phoenix] Assistance with convention and fundraising
Hello fellow Venetian Federation family; I hope everyone is geared up for a fun filled weekend of fellowship and philosophy. As you all know, state convention is right around the corner. Well, here is another "F" for you. Fundraising! I am pleased to announce that this year we will be assisting with 13 of our members during the state convention. This is something that we have not done in over 15 years. As a reminder, it is because of the efforts of the Phoenix chapter when I comes to fundraising that we can do this. That is why I am asking that all of you that I have lanyards to sell for the Phoenix chapter to bring those lanyards to convention and sell them with full force. Remember, we are selling the lanyards at eight dollars for $15 for two, or $20 for three. I did ask Debra Smith if we could sell the lanyards during the karaoke on Friday and she gave us permission. I think it is important to show the rest of the affiliate how strong the Phoenix chapter is. I ask that each of you that are selling the lanyards, make sure that you are wearing the lanyards proudly. I know That at registration, they will be giving you a lanyard to wear but that you have to return back to the state when convention is done. Please don't take that lanyard but use the one that our chapter is selling. When you are selling the lanyards, make sure that you let people know that half of what we raise will go to the state affiliate. I cannot wait to see each and every one of you at the convention and I am looking forward to to seeing each and everyone of you. Sincerely, Brad Kuehne Phoenix chapter president
