Greetings everyone,

I know this event has already passed, but I think it necessary to comment on this email thread. Just a reminder, the National Federation of the Blind of Arizona is a 501c(3) organization, which means we are tax exempt. As such we need to be very careful in our political advocacy. As members of the Tucson chapter, we are all members of the affiliate, so I urge caution when participating in events such as that being lead by those advocating for the recall of Senator Justine Wadsack. I am not commenting on what you do in your individual capacity as a citizen, however, no one is allowed to speak on behalf of the National Federation of the Blind of Arizona at such an event, and no one is allowed to even mention the National Federation of the Blind in a way that suggest our participation or support for an event such as this. Doing so will place our tax-exempt status in jeopardy.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Donald Porterfield, Esq.
